Your first visit at ReMed isn't one consultation. It's three, functional medicine, nutrition, and physical therapy, working as one unified strategy instead of three separate appointments.
Biology, mechanics, and strategy, addressed together, not in isolation.

Functional medicine, physical therapy, and nutrition are complementary disciplines. Integrated together, they offer a sustainable approach to chronic conditions, metabolic health, gut issues, liver problems, fatigue, joint pain, inflammation, and hormone imbalance, among many other conditions. By addressing the biology through nutrition and the mechanics through physical therapy, under a unified functional medicine strategy, the goal is lasting recovery rather than temporary symptom management.
Your first assessment visit starts with the functional practitioner and their assistant. They take a full medical history, including family history and routine, and conduct a biofeedback analysis to start linking your symptoms to a physiological or biological root cause. If needed, blood tests are recommended for further investigation.
This initial analysis gives an understanding of basic cellular functions such as circulation, oxygenation, immunity, inflammation, absorption, hormone balance, and brain function.
Based on the test results and the doctor's analysis, you're given the first step of your healing program. Your treatment plan may include one or more of the following:
✓
Ozone Therapy
✓
IV Drips
✓
Photobiomodulation
✓
Supplementation
✓
Peptides
✓
Ozonated Sauna and Steam Therapy
The medical assistant briefs the nutritionist on your case before you move to this step. The nutritionist takes a detailed nutrition assessment and conducts a bioimpedance test, showing body fat percentage, lean body mass, and total body water, including intracellular and extracellular water, as well as monitoring tissue integrity and hydration.
Based on your case, your desired result, and your functional plan, the nutritionist advises you on a particular diet approach:
✓
Anti-Inflammatory Diet
✓
Elimination Diet
✓
Gut Supportive Protocols
✓
Blood Sugar Stabilization Protocol
✓
Macronutrient and Micronutrient Protocols
Nutrition is often the most underestimated part of a functional journey. Food is medicine, and understanding what you put into your body is crucial not only to gut health but to overall wellness and longevity. Nutrition supports functional medicine in addressing conditions such as Type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular health, gut issues including IBS, IBD, SIBO, and celiac disease, fatty liver, auto-immune conditions, hormone imbalance, and chronic inflammation, fatigue, and mood issues.
Your last, but not least, step is a biomechanical assessment with the physical therapist. Physical therapy corrects movement dysfunctions, strengthens muscles, and improves circulation, allowing the nutrients from your plan to reach the areas that need healing.
Movement supports blood circulation and blood flow. Physical therapy also helps build lean muscle mass, which in turn supports insulin sensitivity and metabolic health. Even in gut health, chronic gut pain can trigger a fight-or-flight response that shuts down proper digestion. By relieving pain, physical therapy can help shift the body into rest-and-digest mode, maximizing nutrient absorption. It also supports joint integrity, posture, muscle growth and resistance, and body pain.
Conventional medicine often treats symptoms in isolation. This integrated approach treats the body as an interconnected system, biology, mechanics, and strategy addressed together, not handed off between disconnected specialists.
Why does my first visit include three different consultations instead of one?
What happens in the functional medicine consultation specifically?
What is a bioimpedance test and why is it part of the nutrition step?
Why does physical therapy matter for conditions like gut health or metabolic health?
Will every patient get the same treatment plan?
